Privacy notice
Morroweather provides weather information without requiring an account. This notice explains what the service handles, why, and what choices you have. It is a product notice, not legal advice.
Information used
- Place or coordinates. A searched place is used when you submit it. Device location is requested only after your action and browser permission.
- Preferences. Saved places, unit, language, theme, plans, notification choices and Morrow Morning settings stay in browser storage.
- Service and security data. The hosting platform and upstream providers may process ordinary request data such as time, IP address, user agent and error information.
- Optional product events. After explicit analytics consent, and only while product telemetry is enabled, Morroweather may send allow-listed events with a random per-session identifier and a random pseudonymous browser analytics identifier. Events may describe page and feature views, language, device class, coarse country, acquisition tags and performance. They never include exact coordinates, typed places or addresses, free text, IP address, user agent, account details, contact details or credentials.
Purposes and choices
Location and forecast requests deliver the service you ask for. Local preferences make repeat visits useful. Security logs support abuse prevention and reliability. Optional analytics, advertising storage and personalised advertising remain off unless configured and consented. Declining optional technology does not disable forecasts.
Product analytics
When product telemetry is enabled, Morroweather sends analytics only after the applicable analytics consent requirement has been satisfied. The server accepts only documented event fields and rejects unknown or custom analytics properties. The allow-listed events help measure which screens and features are used, understand language and broad device support, diagnose errors and performance, and improve the service. Morroweather does not use fingerprinting to create or infer an identity from browser or device characteristics. Its analytics identifiers are random and pseudonymous.
Exact GPS coordinates are not stored as analytics. Typed places, addresses, free text, contact or account details, credentials, IP addresses and user-agent strings are also excluded from analytics event storage. Hosting and security providers may still process ordinary request data separately for delivery, rate limiting, abuse prevention and reliability as described above.
Providers and disclosures
Forecast, air-quality, climate and place-search requests pass through the Morroweather Weather Engine to configured providers, including Open‑Meteo and MET Norway. After browser permission, coordinates may be sent through the same server-side engine to OpenStreetMap Nominatim solely to resolve the nearby place name; shared cache keys are rounded and results are cached to avoid repeated lookups. U.S. public alerts may come from the National Weather Service. Radar may use RainViewer tiles and an OpenStreetMap base layer. Cloudflare hosts and caches the service. Google technology is disabled by default. Provider availability and contractual terms can change.
Retention
| Data | Typical retention |
|---|---|
| Browser preferences | Until you clear site data or remove an item |
| Shared weather and place cache | Minutes for live forecasts; hours for outlooks; up to 30 days for historical aggregates and reverse-geocoded place names |
| Consent choice | Until changed or browser storage is cleared |
| Consented browser analytics state | Session identifier until the browser session ends; pseudonymous analytics identifier up to 90 days; unsent retry queue up to 24 hours; acquisition tags up to 30 days |
| Raw server-side product analytics events | Up to 30 days, then automatically deleted |
| Derived analytics aggregates | Up to 395 days, then automatically deleted |
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or receive a portable copy. You may also appeal or complain to your privacy regulator. Browser permissions and optional consent can be changed at any time. Withdrawing optional consent removes Morroweather's local analytics identifier, retry queue and acquisition state and stops new product events. Where a legally recognised opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control applies, optional consent defaults to denied.
Children, transfers and security
Morroweather is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly create child profiles. Providers may process data outside your country under their own safeguards. Morroweather minimises collected data, validates telemetry, avoids account profiles and uses encrypted HTTPS transport, but no online system can promise absolute security.
